The big score for German air taxi manufacturer, Lilium, came on July 18 with their largest order to date. Saudia Group is a state-owned airline and it ordered 50 eVTOLs shuttle jets from Lilium with the option to order 50 more. The first order is expected to be filled by 2029.
Saudi Arabia is a country with tremendous wealth from petroleum and it is making big efforts to diversify its economic revenue streams, and become more sustainable. It has a goal to invite tourism to the country and these air taxis will be used to those ends in alignment with SA’s Vision 2030.
