With 124 state-approved cannabis dispensaries for legal adult-use cannabis, Ohio voters passed the law in November 2023 that went into effect on August 6, 2024.
Ohio cannabis consumers love their cannabis. The total sales for recreational cannabis was over $242 million in those 4 months. The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Cannabis Control revealed that over 32,000 pounds of plant material was sold. This is impressive considering over 120 local municipalities in Ohio have banned adult-use sales in their areas.
Ohio’s voters can also grow their own, with the new law stating that home grows are allowed six plants per person with a maximum of 12 plants per residence.
