Evil cell phone hackers are preying on Android phone owners. Be very cautious right now. They are deploying many different hacks. Do not upload any apps right now, even from your trusted companies.

One hack involves tricking job-seekers. Hackers send an email with a job offer or job interview. To complete the application process, they prompt the job-seeker to tap the continue button or hyperlink or go to a relevant app. Tapping the link will download malware that will infect the Android device.

The innocent job-seeker who tap will have installed malware that will target apps on the device to steal the owner’s credentials, 2FA codes and soon have access to financial accounts.

The Google Play update is also suspect. The malware is in the fake Google Play update. Once triggered, the malware mimics the owner’s banking and financial login screen and steals the credentials.
