The emission of greenhouse gases is just one of the many issues with modern-day transportation systems, along with cost and time. Although the world’s current focus is on emissions impacting the climate crisis, a Canadian company designing ultra-high-speed transportation technology and vehicles is poised to solve all three problems for Canada.
In July, TransPod unveiled an advanced all-electric passenger train. The company said it is faster than a jet. The all-electric train called FluxJet will be able to convey up to 54 passengers across Canadian cities in just minutes. It will cost much less than the cheapest airline, and it will also cut CO2 emissions by 636,000 tonnes annually. TransPod has started constructing stations for the train, and is expected to create 140,000 green jobs and add $19.2 billion to Canada’s GDP.
