Last week, AB184 was delivered to the Nevada State Legislature. The bill would provide a voucher for EV truck buyers through a voucher and The Clean Trucks and Buses Incentive Program. The plan is to utilize 35% of the federal money coming to the state through the Carbon Reduction Program.
There are many specifics to the bill. For example, the new EV truck must be purchased by a current Nevada truck owner. Also. the new EV truck must stay in Nevada for at least 5 years and it must be used at least 5,000 miles/year. Let’s hope the legislation is revised to ease up on some of those restrictions so more consumers can enter the EV truck market under that proposed law.
