Being the most popular internet browser makes you wealthier than your competition, but it puts you at risk of being frequently attacked by hackers. On April 18, Google offered a patch for an attack days earlier, which could affect over 3 billion users.

It impacts Chrome on Windows, Linux, and Mac. Called the CVE-2023-2023, Google said it could allow attackers to bypass modern-hardware securities and access users’ browsing history. Fortunately, the tech company has now released a new Chrome browser with the vulnerability fixed. While Google did not say whether some users’ browsing history got exploited, the technology company said users must update their browsers immediately.

To update your Chrome browser, locate and click About Google Chrome through the Help icon, which you can find when you open the three vertical dots in the browser’s top right corner. Chrome will update automatically, and then you must restart the browser.
