The 2024 World Happiness Report collected this information: The majority of people from all age groups feel the happiest in Finland and Denmark. Interestingly, on the environmental front, both Nordic countries have set a net-negative emissions goal.
Both countries also have strong connections to nature and outdoor exercise, even in the coldest months. This appreciation and love of nature make it so easy to connect the dots: if you love and enjoy something, protect it! As the happiest country on the planet, Finland aims to have net-zero carbon emissions by 2035 and net-negative emissions by 2040. Denmark has set goals of net-zero emissions by 2045 and net-negative emissions by 2050.
