AGREEN1 will share exclusive interviews with the top brass in forward-leaning companies, giving our readers the opportunity to learn about successful enterprises that are destined for even greater success.

AGREEN1 recently conducted an interview with Josh Crossney, Director of Cannabis Events with MJH Life Sciences. Josh launched the Cannabis Science Conference in 2016. It was acquired by MJH Life Sciences this year, the world’s leading healthcare media organization with over 1,200 meetings and live events every year.

Here is Part One of our two-part interview.

AGREEN1: You launched a cannabis conference in 2016, what inspired you to do this?

JOSH: I saw a real need to bring science into the medical cannabis space. Because cannabis in 2016 was labeled (and it still is) a Schedule 1 Drug and doctors and other medical professionals simply didn’t know much about the plant. There was no platform for clinicians, researchers, or any other medical professionals to share their knowledge and questions. That was senseless to me when the plant was protecting thousands of young children from epileptic seizures and various cancers.

AG1: Tell us about your knowledge of children needing cannabis for treatment.

JOSH: One person, in particular, is Sophie Ryan. Her doctors detected her brain cancer when she was 8 1/2 months old. Using cannabis as medicine, Sophie has been able to reduce the tumor and she recently celebrated her 9th birthday.

AG1: Can the readers help Sophie in any way?

JOSH: We just had a fundraiser for her to help pay for her experimental treatment at UCLA. Her treatment will benefit many others with cancer, and it costs about $200K per year. Readers interested in helping can visit savingsophie.org and follow on Facebook @ SophieRyan.

AG1: Who else have you worked with for the Cannabis Science Conference throughout the years?

JOSH: Montel Williams was one of the first to participate. He used cannabis to treat his multiple sclerosis. Actress Fran Drescher supports cannabis and she is a survivor of uterine cancer. Olivia Newton John, Marvin Washington, Jim McMann, Cliff Robinson, and many more have spoken at the conferences over the years.

AG1: What’s on your agenda for 2022? What will you share in Part Two?

JOSH: There’s so much happening in 2022, and yes, I’ll give you all the details.
