Renewable energy capacity around the globe increased in 2021. According to IEA (International Energy Agency), the world collectively added 295 gigawatts of green energy capacity, with solar energy leading the way. There was an increase in demand for biofuels also.
Gains from Europe, India, Latin America and Africa/Middle East had the greatest impact. The U.S. was about the same from 2020.
