New York wind energy company Caithness recently received approval from Stillwater County officials to build two wind farms with energy storage facilities worth about $253 million in central Montana. It’s the first storage/battery facility in Montana.
At their completion, Beaver Creek Wind Farms II and III, the two wind farms, will generate 80 megawatts of electricity to power up to 115,000 Stillwater County homes. In addition, the storage system will help save up to 20 megawatts of excess energy to power homes when wind energy generation is low. Construction of the wind farms coming this summer. #MakingGains
