Like some other prefab home builders, Samara is devoted to constructing sustainable ADUs, ranging between studio-type buildings and one-bedroom units. The California-based sustainable startup recently rolled out its first selections, which are about the cleanest homes from any prefab home builder.
Collectively known as Backyard homes, they come with solar panels and utilize all-electric appliances. They also have an air-filtration system to keep the air cleaner and healthier. The homes even have enough space to set up studios or workstations. The design process for Backyard takes place on the company’s website, where a simple interface prompts people to choose and customize their unit’s features. Backyard studio units start at $289,000, while the one-bedroom start at $329,000, including installation costs. The reservation deposit cost is $250.
