Keep your eyes wide open for the impact of AI. It’s knocking on the door and asking to be invited into our lives. Geoffrey Hinton has recently retired from Google and he is also known as “the godfather of AI”. For 5 decades, Hinton developed AI and now the 75-year-old has safety concerns about AI.

Businesses are going to see a benefit to using AI, such as more automation and efficiency and fewer employees having to pay. However, according to Hinton; “These things could get more intelligent than us and could decide to take over, and we need to worry now about how we prevent that happening.” He adds that AI can be used to manipulate elections and even cause wars, insisting that humans are not ready to utilize AI because it must be highly regulated on a global level first. Meta’s chief AI officer agrees; “There is no question that machines will become smarter than humans—in all domains in which humans are smart—in the future,” says LeCun. “It’s a question of when and how, not a question of if.” So please stay aware dear friends.
