AGREEN1 has covered forever chemicals (PFAS), and explained how planting hemp to clean up and remediate the toxic soil has been successful in Maine and New York. Now Michigan will be using this remarkable plant to remove PFAS found at decommissioned K.I. Sawyer AFB.

A team of scientists and researchers at Northern Michigan University conducted the study which demonstrated the effectiveness. Chemistry Prof. Lesley Putman led the team and plans to continue the research with field studies to measure how much the root system remediates the soil.
