Putin’s Russia is being accused of disinformation surrounding elections in the U.S. and also many countries in the EU. Enabling pro-Russian politicians to be elected is the end goal. Weeks ago, the Czech government identified a disinformation network based in Russia.
FB/Meta makes billions of dollars from these “fake news” links. To make the problem worse, it will not allow a watchdog group of researchers called CrowdTangle to monitor the situation. Does that sound greedy and shady? Please be smart about the tech and social media you consume. The stakes are always high when there is so much money, power and influence involved.
