Is the sky falling in the Dallas-Fort Worth area? Kinda. Walmart has been testing drone delivery in more rural parts of Texas, such as Frisco and Lewisville, and now the retail giant will offer drone delivery to the metro area of D-FW. Walmart has chosen two FAA-approved drone delivery companies as partners in this new “drop-shopping” experience.

One partner is California-based, Wing Aviation LLC, the first drone company approved by the FAA to operate a delivery service for a US metro area. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, owns Wing. Walmart’s other drone delivery partner is California-based, Zipline.
