California has filed a lawsuit against 5 global oil companies: Shell, BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Exxon-Mobil. The Golden State is also suing the American Petroleum Institute, the largest lobbyist for the domestic oil market. On September 16, the State Attorney General, Rob Bonta said:

“Oil and gas companies have privately known the truth for decades — that the burning of fossil fuels leads to climate change — but have fed us lies and mistruths to further their record-breaking profits at the expense of our environment. Enough is enough.”

On September 17, there was a vibrant rally in NYC with 75,000 climate activists gathering for the March to End Fossil Fuels. The heart of the matter is accountability now for decades of lies and damages. Mother Earth needs all of us to defend her. Let’s get loud, Planet Activists!
