AGREEN1 shed light on air taxis in the August 23, 2021, issue. Recently, United Airlines said it anticipates the first deliveries of their short-route electric aircraft by 2026. These new vehicles are called eVTOLs (electric vertical take-off and landing), and UA placed an order for 100 with Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR) and another 200 vehicle order with Eve Air Mobility (NYSE: EVE).
Electric air taxis are in the process of gaining acceptance by regulators and the FAA. Just imagine yourself taking an air taxi to a destination 150 miles away. Ticket cost for one-way is around $130.
