Aldi is a German-based grocery outlet that can be found in 18 countries and counting. Known for sparse interiors to save costs and keep prices low, Aldi appeals to the economical shopper. Aldi’s CEO, Jason Hart said:
“As one of America’s fastest-growing retailers, we take our responsibility to lead the industry in sustainability seriously, so our customers don’t have to choose between shopping responsibly and saving money.”
Aldi is now eliminating plastic bags completely. This greener grocer aims to have all its packaging made of recyclable, compostable, or reusable materials by 2025.
