In Irvine, California UCI Health-Irvine is constructing the first all electric hospital in the US. The 350,000-square-foot facility will house a hospital with 144 inpatient beds, 10 operating suites and a 24-hour emergency department with 20 treatment rooms is scheduled to open in 2025.
In Oregon, Kaiser Permanente is adding an all-electric hospital tower on its Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas. The seven-story, 615,000 square foot building will house private rooms, advanced robotics, greater emergency room capacity and more. It is targeting a 2029 opening date.
