There are places in the US that are finally getting wiser and more wonderful. Goleta is a beach city in Santa Barbara county that cherishes their motto: Our tomorrow is today. Leadership is keeping stewardship top of mind by celebrating the whole month to April as Earth Month.
Fortunately for all of us, Goleta is not alone. The cities of Carlsbad and Palo Alto in California are also using April to help raise sustainability awareness for their residents. Tempe, Arizona and Alexandria, Virginia and Carrboro, North Carolina are also leaning forward into sustainability. If your city is not celebrating April as Earth Month, there is an Earth Month Eco Challenge you can try yourself. Just maybe, you can convince your city to celebrate April as Earth Month in 2026!
