This is the name of the Chinese electric mobility manufacturer, aka BYD. It is a unique company that makes buses, trucks, forklifts, EVs, sky-trains, batteries, and more. Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway has been investing in the conglomerate for over 15 years.
BYD has now created an EV with a price tag of around $15K USD. The model is called the Qin Plus EV. While the electric buses are made in Lancaster, California, and are for sale in the US, the passenger EVs are not available in the US. For over ten years, BYD has been building its US headquarters in Los Angeles and has grown to a unionized workforce of nearly 800 employees in Lancaster. Yes, they are hiring!
