The world’s largest energy plant is called Khavda Renewable Energy Park. It’s five times bigger than the city of Paris, France. What’s even greater than that is that it is being financed by India’s most dominant coal mining and coal importing company, a conglomerate called the Adani Group.
Coal is still widely used by India’s 3.1 billion population, but now there is a recognition that renewable and clean energy needs investment to make it a reality. AGEL is Adani Group’s renewable energy arm, and it has dedicated $20 billion to the solar and wind Khavda Renewable Energy Park. The park should be completed by 2029.
