Fashion designer Christian Siriano made a first at New York Fashion Week this month. He used fabric from textile recycler Circ. The forward-leaning designer chose Circ Lyocell fabric, which has the appearance and feel of silk.
Christian said, “We are a no-waste brand. We don’t overproduce. We don’t make 10,000 units of something.”
Siriano believes that inclusion and sustainability are important for society. He said; “We do not need thousands of clothes, we don’t need 30 sweaters stacked on a table. I think that’s done,” Siriano concludes. “I think people are investing in clothes like mine that are a bit more, yes, they’re special. Yes, they’re unique, and they wear them for the rest of their lives.”
