The SEC approved BlackRock’s application for a spot bitcoin ETF (Exchange Traded Fund). The application was approved for review in July, after providing more comprehensive material for the SEC to review. The SEC approved 11 applications for spot bitcoin ETFs, not just BlackRock’s.
What this means is that bitcoin (cryptocurrency) is being allowed in a very limited way to have a chance on the financial stock exchange(s). The AGREEN1 December 4 issue noted that BlackRock has also filed an application for review for an Ethereum ETF.
