Something marvelous happened when Harborside Health Center in Oakland, California, received great news. While Harborside is not the nation’s oldest cannabis dispensary, that title belongs to their neighbor in Berkeley, the Berkeley Patients Group (est. 1999); Harborside is the very first cannabis business to have entered into a loan financing agreement with a federally regulated commercial bank for $12M. The cannabis industry considers that an underdog victory, in true march madness style.
