Hyundai recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new EV plant in Ulsan, South Korea. Once completed, it will be able to manufacture 200,000 EVs every year.
Hyundai designed the plant to be people-centric. It will be using innovative manufacturing platforms with “optimal working conditions for safety and efficiency… and will continue to innovate for the benefit of humanity in the era of vehicle electrification based on people-centered humanism.”
Hyundai is investing over $1.5 billion into this new plant, and it is scheduled for construction completion in 2025. In the press release, Hyundai said that Genesis will be the first model to be produced there starting in Q1 of 2026.
