The team behind Joyce announced that Joyce, 770 S. Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles, has opened. Paying homage to the shared Southern heritage of Co-Owners Prince Riley, Athena Riley, Kassady Wiggins, and Sammy Monsour, Joyce brings reimagined coastal cuisine to the heart of DTLA. With a kitchen led by Michelin award-winning Chef Monsour (formerly of LA’s Preux & Proper), Joyce’s menu centers around soulful Southern fare with an emphasis on sustainable seafood, alongside a zero-waste beverage program developed by Wiggins. Named for Riley’s mother and daughter, Joyce embodies the cooking passion of its elder namesake and seeks to bring joy to guests sharing a meal at its tables.
To complement the modern Southern fare, Beverage Director Kassady Wiggins has created a zero-waste, spirit-driven beverage program featuring well-balanced cocktails delivered with a simple, elegant presentation and commitment to sustainable practices. Highlights include the Hootie Hoo with El Tesoro Blanco, Passionfruit, Aperol, Lime, Blue Algae, and Salt Foam; Son of a Sailor with Los Magos Sotol, Hoja Santa Spice Blend, Pineapple, and Fever Tree Sparkling Pink Grapefruit; and Gussied Up with Haku Vodka, Copalli Cacao Rum, St. George’s Nola Coffee Liqueur, Sorghum, and Chicory Cold Brew. In addition to the craft cocktail program, Joyce offers a curated variety of wines available by the bottle and glass to pair with each signature dish and a list showcasing natural wines. The bar program will also offer a limited selection of local beers on draft and a limited selection of domestic and imported beers by the bottle. In addition, a selection of non-alcoholic beverages is available for those looking for a different way to imbibe.
Joyce is open Monday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight, and closed on Sundays. The restaurant will accept reservations, available here via Open Table, as well as limited walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis. Brunch and lunch service will be added at a later date.
