Honda and Sony have partnered to create AFEELA; the new frontier in mobility. Their aim is to manufacture an EV that has a highly interactive interior environment so everyone in the vehicle can have an optimal experience.
Battery range is 300 miles and they will use the Tesla NACS Supercharger system. The AFEELA is not cheap. Honda is taking reservations. For $200 one can reserve either the $90K Origin model for a 2027 release or the $103K Signature model with a 2026 release.
Toyota and Lexus have announced their second EVs after the bZ4X (now called bZ) and the RZ, respectively. Lexus announced that the 2026 ES will be sold as an EV as well. Toyota recently announced that its second EV will be the C-HR crossover.
The 2026 Toyota C-HR will come standard with all-wheel drive and, 338 horsepower, and 290 miles of range. Toyota is getting ready to take over the world of EVs. After a long period of development, the company’s long-awaited solid-state battery (SSB) is nearing production.
Lithium-ion batteries have been the standard for EVs. No other battery type can hold enough charge in a small enough space. Solid-state batteries weigh substantially less than lithium-ion batteries with the same charge capacity. Toyota aims for a driving range of anywhere between 745 and 932 miles on a single charge. This should eliminate range anxiety.
