Since Tesla introduced the first EV, the auto industry has been rolling towards electrification and sustainability. Legacy car makers have been adopting zero-emission vehicle technology as new companies emerge, setting sustainability standards. In addition, car companies like Ford and Volvo now use recycled and sustainable materials to make the interiors of their vehicles.

But you probably haven’t heard about the most sustainable EV company in the world yet. The company is called LIUX, a Spanish startup founded in March 2021. LIUX is in the early stages of developing its first EV, dubbed Animal, which will also be the first-ever plant-based EV. Besides the vehicle’s batteries, wheels, and maybe brake pads, every other part of the EV will be made with organic materials. No other EV company is that sustainable. LIUX has also started taking reservations for the EV. The startup will release the first model in 2024, which may sell for €39,000 or $40,274.
