If there is one thing we have learned from Ram trucks over the years, it is that the best things take time. Another thing we have now learned from the Stellantis-owned pickup brand is that it is better to be late than never. As Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. said at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show, the brand’s first-ever EV, Ram 1500 REV, will hit the market by 2024. That puts it behind the Rivian R1T, the 2022 GMG Hummer EV, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMG Sierra EVs. But Ram’s battery-powered electric truck will likely be the best on the market when it becomes available.
The Ram 1500 EV pickup will have more range than other electric trucks already unveiled. It will also have fast charging capability and an optional range extender to prevent the EV range from decreasing when towing, a common problem among most electric pickups today. Ram has already sold out for their waitlist of (refundable) $100 reservation spaces.
