When it comes to social media usage, we know that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube rank the highest. Now it seems like users’ interests are starting to shift, and there is increasing interest in apps like TikTok and Snapchat with the younger generation.
A 91-page survey by Piper Sandler involving 10,000 U.S. teenagers, discovered that young people prefer Snapchat and TikTok. The survey also showed that teens are barely interested in Facebook and Twitter.
While older adults subscribe to the news, business, politics, and related niches, younger users love fun and creativity and enjoy taking photos, making videos, and shopping on the apps. Snapchat and TikTok capitalized on that phenomenon and built their apps specifically to give teens a better experience.
