Spain loses an estimated €3.3 billion (USD $3.5 billion) to its illegal cannabis market every year. That is huge money, and with over 80% of the population in favor of legalizing cannabis for medical purposes, it’s a mistake to keep it illegal. A parliamentary commission is now looking to legalize it and expects that the new rule will create a booming legal cannabis market. There are expectations that it will funnel a solid revenue stream, cease the superficial fines and decrease crime.
