Uber’s food delivery platform Uber Eats and Leafly, a leading cannabis eCommerce website and information resource, reached an agreement on October 16 to start offering a home delivery service to cannabis consumers in Canada’s largest city, Toronto. The delivery service kicked off the next day with the hope that it would help combat the illegal market, which still accounts for over 50% of adult-use cannabis sales in Toronto.
The delivery service is available to Torontonians who are over 19 years old. They can use the Uber Eats app to place orders with Hidden Leaf Cannabis, Minerva Cannabis, or Shivaa’s Rose, currently the only three cannabis retailers in the partnership.
