Not yet popular in the U.S. but gathering more acceptance in China, Spain, and now Japan is battery swapping for EVs. San Francisco-based Ample is a battery-swapping tech firm with projects locally and in Madrid and coming soon to Japan to work with Mitsubishi’s EV trucks.
The idea is to provide various options for EV battery charging. Diversification will help pull this EV revolution towards development and better adoption. This video shows that Ample’s battery swapping took less than 6.5 minutes. In time it will get even faster.
