The EV truck company has a 100,000 delivery van order from Amazon that is already making deliveries in Los Angeles, San Francisco and now Tulsa. The large purchase from Amazon is part of their Climate Pledge initiative from 2019 (in accordance with the Paris Agreement) to be a zero emissions company as quickly as possible and throughout their supply chain. The Rivian-Amazon delivery vans will be coming to 13 other cities by the end of 2021. Rivian also released its in-house insurance program. Tesla was the first to offer an auto insurance program for its California customers only. However Rivian is offering its insurance program in 40 states and it includes insurance coverage for home and recreational equipment such as boats, campers and motorcycles.
